What is Your #1 Block to Loving & Accepting Yourself?

6/28/2016

We are often kinder, more compassionate, accepting ,and

loving toward others than we are to ourselves. Be honest, do

you love and  accept yourself...all parts of yourself? And if not,

what blocks you from loving and accepting yourself?

  • Maybe you feel guilty when you put yourself first.

  • Maybe you’re afraid they’ll see you as selfish if you love
          and accept yourself.

  • Maybe you  think putting everyone else first “should” be
          your focus.

Contrary to the myths about self-love and self-acceptance,

neither are a sign of selfishness. Loving and accepting yourself

in healthy ways expands your capacity to be present to, and

loving and accepting of, others in healthy ways.

How can we learn to accept ourselves, particularly when

we’re suffering or feel like we have made a mistake? Loving and

accepting all parts of ourselves is one of the greatest spiritual

challenges we may encounter.  It is also necessary for living a

life filled with love, abundance, wellbeing, and outrageous joy.

Fortunately, there’s a growing body of research demonstrating

that loving and accepting ourselves and being kind and

compassionate toward ourselves is essential for emotional

wellbeing. Not only does it help us avoid the inevitable

consequences of harsh self-judgment—depression, anxiety, and

stress—it also changes our vibration and increases our

wellbeing and hopefulness about ourselves and the world

around us. Experiencing and extending outrageous joy is our

mission, our life purpose. To experience the wellbeing,

abundance and joy we desire, we have to shift our vibration.

Every thought or feeling has a vibration that can be measured.

Simply put, our vibration is either constricted or expansive.  My

friend and colleague Rue Hass eloquently describes it as "yum"

or "yuck".

At any given moment we choose our vibration. We have the

power to choose whether to respond or react to our

environment. Shifting our vibration connects us to the power of

intention. That place where you feel outrageous joy will become

your reality.

It’s great that more and more people are thinking about the

importance of self-love, self-compassion, and self-acceptance.

But a common oversight of people interested in changing

their vibration is failing to identify and clear the blocks to

self-acceptance.

When you are ready to love and accept yourself, you will

release the resistance in your energy field, and start to notice

how much outrageous joy there is in your life. When you love

and accept yourself the universe will support you in new and

surprising ways by opening up new channels of outrageous joy.

Identifying your #1 Block to Self-Acceptance is the first step to

attracting what you want in life.

Acceptance.
